Way back in the dawn of time, when I started casting, I had the current Lyman cast bullet book. Not sure but I think it was the first Lyman, glossy cover with a white plastic binder strip. It seems like I remember that either there was a chart of molds and top punches or they listed them by mold number with a picture and the G number.

Is there anything available online that would give the mold and G numbers for molds going back 40 years or more.

I've been digging through 40+ years of reloading "stuff". Some of it is going down the road as I see no reason I would ever use it again. Some is kind of like meeting an old friend. And some is even coming in under the heading of "Where the hell did I put that?"

I found a .243 sizer that has been used but I don't remember ever casting a bullet that size. I have a .457 sizer but have never owned anything in that caliber. I had a .41 mag back when but apparently I never cast for it as I haven't found a mold or sizer.

"Is there anything available online that would give the mold and G numbers for molds going back 40 years or more."

Don't know about on-line, but Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, 3rd edition, was first published 30-years ago and has a comprehensive listing of moulds and their corresponding top punches and seating stems.

Lyman's 4th addition is available from several different locations. Mine came from Amazon. Not where I can put my hands on it at the moment.

I am struggling similarly. I am seeking top punches for a Lyman 4500 lube sizer for use with the following bullets: Lee 501-440, Lyman 9 mm Ogive (think 125 gr) mold # 06-18 8583, Lyman 38 spec (think 158 gr) full wad cutter mold # 358495 510, and Lee 380 (think 92 gr) RNFP Mold # 358-95. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

Is your Lyman 9mm the one this is cloned from?
http://arsenalmolds.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=57

If you have access to a 3d printer then you can match any bullet profile pretty easily. Don't worry about longevity - I've crushed bullets and had a PLA top punch come out fine.
