Ok, I've listened to all the talk about Beagling molds. So this evening, with high expectations, I got out a mold (one of my most prized ones) and turned it over to the Beagle. Nothing, nada, he won't even look at it. I think you guys are pulling my leg.

Seriously, Beagling works great. Just had to have some fun with this.

Cheers,

Phil

You've got to put peanut butter in the cavities for him to be interested.

Phil, that's great. Is his name Snoopy by any chance? sundog

btw, if you leave the tape in the mould and let it cool, it might get glued together. Warm it up to get it apart. Don't ask....

Hi Sundog,

Actually his name is Bogie, after my favorite actor Humphrey Bogart. He is a great little guy, wonderful companion.

Cheers,

Phil, there's a hamburger joint in Tulsa named Bogie's at NW corner of 41st and Garnett. Gooooood hamburgers, too! Posters and memorabilia. Bogie movies playing on the tv/vcr in the corner. Okay place to get a lunch. Nice folks, the owner and his wife.

Glad your 'beagling' worked out. sundog

Those four footed 'people' are really okay.
Was watching some program about dogs being trained as helper dogs.
They interviewed the originator of the Simpsons and he talked about his big ole white dog.
What I'm getting to is what he had on the urn with the dogs ashes/remains.
"Bad Dog Good Friend"
He had pictures of all the havoc the dog had wrought.
The dog even buried the guys laptop one day!
But I was struck by his engraving on the urn.
Really sums up my feeling about my 'bad' dogs as well.
No wonder someone coined the phrase, "Man's best friend".

I had to put the old girl down about 2 years ago. She was the finest companion you could ask for, at home or afield.

I always knew Beagling was for the dogs!
Funny how dogs effect a guy. I lost a little one to strokes last year and still can't look at her grave.

Seeing Bogie reminds me so much of the beagle I had as a young teenager. He was the same black/tan coloring, but I named mine Manfred after the famous cartoon character, Mighty Manfred the Wonder Dog (the Tom Terrific Show).

Loved to go hunting with me and my BB gun. My that must have been almost 50 years ago.

Thanks for the photo of your Bogie!

I know what you mean 44man, we've lost two dogs in the last few years. One was a Beagle mix that contracted some horrible disease that slowly paralyzed him from the rear legs forward. He was the bravest living thing I've ever seen, he didn't let it get him down until he just couldn't go anymore. Broke my heart to have him put down but his kidneys failed and he realized that he had lost the fight. The second was a little terrier mutt that at the age of fifteen or sixteen was blind, deaf, couldn't smell anything, and finally became incontinent. Just plain old age. She was a teriffic little dog though. My problem with dogs is that I just get too attached to them.

Buckshot, Bogie likes to wedge his nose between the cushion at the end of the couch and the back. Funniest thing I've ever seen but he seems to like to do it. He did destroy the house one time though, when we were at work. So now he stays in a crate in the living room when we're gone. But he actually seems to like it. Never argues about going in it, just hops right in.

Sundog, "Bogies" sounds like my kind of place. If I ever get out that way I will be sure to stop. There was a bar/restaurant around here some years ago that had all kinds of movie posters and photos of the actors/actresses from the thirties and forties. The decor matched the period and I really liked going there. Eventually it closed though. Like lots of other places that were really comfortable to just relax in.

Thanks for the comments all, good to know there are lots of dog lovers here. I'd be lost without a good dog.

Cheers,

Phil

I'm sitting here on the computer because our miniature Pinscher woke me up an hour ago so he could go out. He does this not because he has to go but because the routine in the morning is to go, get fed, have a treat. He is focused on the treat part.

He is my daughters dog and I wouldn't trade him for anything. Attitude as big as all outdoors.

Nazqul, yea, and I bet he takes a nice comfy nap after the treat for as long as he wants..., and YOU are sitting there wide awake. I ask you. Who's in charge?

This is Ziggy.

He was the best friend, also the best behaved dog I've ever had. Sadly at 15 years, he finally had given his all to me. I know I prolonged his life too long, we have such attachments to them. He had to be helped down the front steps, then back up.

After his euph, the house was like a tomb. I live alone so the search for a replacement began almost immediately. Here's who I came up with;

This is Arrow. He was being ignored by his former owner, my daughter-in-laws brother. He too is a special dog, just a love sponge. A golden retriever, a huge one, when I got him he was 107 pounds! I've slimmed him down a bit, will see how much when we go back to the vet this spring.

My sig line on some forums is; the more people I meet, the more I love my dog! Their love is unconditional, or agape love, like we're supposed to have!

Meet Ginger a shelter dog that came into my life when she was 6 months old. She's about to turn 6 years old this month. Supposedly she's a Shelty/Terrier mix, but she's just a great pal to me. Here's a picture of her taking the afternoon sun..........ROUGH LIFE!!!!!!!!!

Great looking dogs guys! No matter how rotten your day has been, when you come home your dog is always glad to see you and give you his all. Looks like most of the dogs here were rescued from one place or another. Thats good too!

I don't think I could ever be true friends with a man who didn't like dogs.

Cheers all!

..............dagamore, we had a cat, or rather my daughter did but moved to an apartment that didn't allow pets so he became ours. I once called for my wife to come give me a hand and she said she couldn't right then. I asked why not and she said because the cat was asleep in her lap. Well heck with that! A dang cat will sleep for 2-1/2 days if you leave it alone.

Sometimes I think the television was developed only to provide a cat a warm place to sleep.
