How would you mail an air pistol????
A real pistol would have to go through a FFL to a FFL.
An air pistol is not a NFA firearm.
I'm gussing it would have to be declared when mailing it, just in case it shows up on an X-ray.
But it's not illegal to mail, as far as I know.
Someone here know something about this????
Maybe someone who works as a postman.

"An air pistol is not a NFA firearm."

Yes, a "NFA firearm" is a machine gun, short barreled rifle, sawed off shotgun, etc.

An air pistol isn't any kind of a firearm as far as the Feds are concerned. Now, I imagine
that the panty wetters in NYC, Mass. and Kalifornia might have made a silly law defining an air
gun as a firearm in some of their strange places, who knows. In most of Free America,
an air pistol is just as restricted as a set of socket wrenches.

Don't forget the panty wetters in NJ. It's a firearm here.

Interesting topic. you might want to look at the USPS website.

Read the USPS definition.

http://pe.usps.com/text/pub52/pub52c4_008.htm

Then I will tell you that many companies will ship directly to you via USPS. I have had several delivered from big name companies show up via USPS.

It is one of those things that you get to read and then you get to make up your own mind what to do. I will leave my opinion out of it.

Check your destinations laws. Air pistols have to be registered in MI as well.

Depends on where it is coming from and mostly, where it is going. Also depends on the carrier. If it has a filled air pressure cylinder (HPA or CO2) then it cannot be shipped via air. If it has been degassed, then it can be shipped via air.
Advisable not to ship it with ammo (Pellets or BB's).
