Old fella shot .38Sp. & I assumed these were .357 in diameter. Actually, they run from .361- .363 with no lube & no signs of having been sized. Believe they were thrown from Cramer 24D and Saeco 16H (because I bought out the whole loading room & found these moulds among others) sometime in 1960's.

I'm afraid these bullets were cast for .38S&W. Can I safely resize down to
.357? I've never reduced a bullet that far.

If I didn't have a 38S&W and wanted to shoot them in my .38 SPLs and .357s I'd size them .359, load'em up and shoot 'em.

I have a friend who may be interested in buying a few hundred if they are heavy enough. Would either be the 200gr RN as loaded by the Brits early on?

Most of my .357 / .38 molds drop around .361 average. Only the custom molds drop round bullets. The mass market molds are usually out of round by .001 to .002. This means that the .361 bullets may measure as large a .363 in places.

I have been sizing them to .357 / .358 for decades. They will work fine.
( I occasionally size them to .356 for my Thompson contender. It has a very tight bore.)

I size all of mine .360 now as I have two revolvers that need this size. All the others accept and shoot them accurately. But to answer your question, that should not be too much to size down. JAY
