Gentlemen,

Has anyone used any of the #102 powder Jeff Bartlett is advertising? He states on his website that it is "similar in burning rate to Red Dot". Does anyone have any idea how similar? I load a fair amount of shotsells and am getting tired of paying for commercial powders, 102 seems to be the only surplus powder that may have application to shotshell loading. If there are others, I'm all ears (I load 12ga and 20ga target loads).

All input is appreciated.

I have used the 102 surplus that is comparable to AA#2. This was from High Tech not Bartlets. It records over the chrony close to listed specs by Accurate. Gianni.

SSB, Pat's Reloading carries Solo 1000 @ 4# for $49.00. Load data is available at the Accurate site.

Another good alternative would be Alliant Promo. It uses Red Dot data, and is less than $10 per pound...Ray

Ray,

Thanks for the heads up on that powder. I live about 15 minutes from Pat's, matter of fact I bought some IMR-7383 from him this week, so I'll save enough on shipping and hazmat to make it worth my while. I'm having trouble accessing accurates site right now for data, but I have one of their load books around here somewhere.

Just one more reason I love this site. Good looking out Ray.

I think (but am not sure) that the scotts is the same as the old pr200 (aa2) but the 102 is a flake powder that doesnt meter well in a powder measure.
