I know for the Mid west, this ain't no prize, but here in Oregon, it's a beaut. Took me 7 years to put the hammer on one like this.
58 cal. T/C Renegade
.570 PB round ball
80 Gr. Pyrodex RS
RWS musket cap

60 - 70 yds shot straigh on, ball came to rest just ahead of the last rib on the right side, just under the skin. He ran 50 -60 yars and went A-- over tea kettle. Ball did not deform much at all, so much for the pie plate theory.

Have not had him measured yet, but should place in the Oregon Muzzle loader record book.

Good morning & Congradulations !
One fine looking corn cruncher to me & I live in eastern Illinois when up north there. Used a caliber .58 Zouave replica for many years as my main deer buster.

From a guy in Kansas; I'd have shot that one without a moment's hesitation. We have some big ones here and I have killed two with my muzzle loader that were about that good over the last 14 years or so of hunting here, but that is a good deer anywhere, congratulations. Most years, I won't see one that good.

Isn't hunting with a muzzle loader gratifying?

Looks good to me! Congrats.
I hunted Oregon for two years when I lived in Newport. Never had any luck. When it was Blacktail season I saw elk, when it was elk I saw blacktail. When it wasnt a season I saw both!

Congrats again.
