I have had good luck with the TL 430-240-SWC. Easy to cast and more accurate than I can hold.

The TL430-240 SWC works well for me. Despite being designed as a TL bullet, I run them through my RCBS lube-sizer and they do fine in my S&W 29.

Thanks guys for the reply, that is the bullet I was thinking of ordering, I have had good luck with the TL design in my other Blackhawk, .357 mag sized to .358 and run thru my 45 sizer.
About what size does this bullet drop at using 50/50 pure lead and WW and water dropped?
Thanks again.

Don't overlook the C430-310-RF either. Might be the very best.

That 310 Lee is a great bullet in my 44 mag.

I agree with the last two posters
the Lee 310 is a good one for Lee Molds
and you can get in a 6 pack

That 310 Lee is a great bullet in my 44 mag.

A good bullet, very accurate, but a bit much for a plinker. Never been a fan of the TL design so I would opt for the std lube groove, but prefer the RCBS or Lyman design.

+1 on the TL429-240-SWC for a plinking/small game load at 44 SPL velocities or as a "medium" powered load over 8.5 - 10 gr Unique.

I never found the heavier bullets to be all that great, just more lead down range per shot and recoil to deal with with no improvement in accuracy over 240 - 270 gr cast bullets at my practical handgun range limit. Some do like them though but I don't find them any better that GC 240 - 270 gr cast bullets. I suggest the Lee C429-240-SWC for magnum loads. Cast of WW+2% tin/lead at 50/50 or of 16-1 lead-tin alloy and pushed at 1400+ fps the are decidedly effective on deer, pigs and elk. On any reasonable broadside shot ex[pansin is very good and penetration will be all that is needed (have yet to recovered one or a similar one yet).

Those are my 2 choices of Lee moulds for my four 44 Magnum handguns. Elmer didn't have any problems with that weight bullet and you won't either.

My son is ordering the lee 6 cavity 200gr RF for his 44mag, however it is the 5 shot Taurus Tracker with 2.5" barrel. A bit small to shoot the 310gr and I don't care for the TL designs. I see others that don't care for them are actually recommending the 240 TL SWC mold in 44, anything I should know good about it to change my mind?

The Lee c310 is THE most accurate boolit in my 1984 Redhawk over 20.5 gr 296, Not a plinking round though.

Larry, could you tell me about what size the TL 430-240-SWC drops at using 50/50 lead and WW and a splash of tin.
Thanks, Floyd

RCBS makes a 225 grain SWC gas check mold.

Boolits from that mold, sized.430, work well in my SBH as well as in a couple of Marlin carbines.

I just got the Lyman 210 SWC with GC. Shoots very accurate and is a joy to shoot.
