These are .458 bullets made out of 44 magnum cases. Lead cores and plastic tips. I haven't perfected the plastic tip process yet, but I am close. Made from a mold out of hot glue.

They shoot well but cosmetics need improvement.

Yes sir, those look good. I am in the process of perfecting my .410 bullets from 40 S&W cases. As with yours, I am working on the nose shape.
What did you use to de-rim the 44 cases?
On another site, one of the other members used a push pin (looks like the Lee) and hollowed out the end to make a nose punch. I believe I will be giving that a try also.
Keep up the good work.

Those do look good. I can just imagine the frustration of the poor fella wondering what in heck happened to all his 44 brass!

I am using a mini lathe to de-rim and hollow point. I'm getting the process down pat and it is taking less time.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a small lathe on my list for the future. Somewhere, I did see a photo of a de-rimming die being used on a 38 spcl. case. I can't seem to relocate the photo though. The de-rimming die would be ideal.

My only problem is that I pay so much for .44 brass these days, I couldn't afford the
raw materials!

They look good, and probably work well, too.

I hear you, it is expensive, not sure I am saving any money. It is a labor of love for sure.
