Gonna shoot some 30-30 boolits tomorrow!

Looking forward to shooting some cash 155 grain boolits tomorrow in my 16.5" Handi rifle. Picture shows the 40 rounds I loaded with 10 grains of trailboss this evening. Should be a very pleasant load to shoot. Going to mount a Burris 2-7x33 Fullfield 2 on it in just a bit.

I ended up buying a 150 gr. 2 cavity flat point mold from lee but have not had a chance to use it yet. I ended up using the 312-155 bullets I had on hand and sized them down to 309 DIA. Picture of the ammo and rifle. Will have targets posted tomorrow afternoon :mrgreen:

EDIT:Yes I know they are a pointed tip. I have a Marlin 336BL but for obvious reasons only plan to use these in the H&R.

I suspect sizing to .310 or .311 will work better in a Handi Rifle.

I suspect that 10 grains of Trail Boss with that boolit is right at the maximum zone…

I shoot the 311041, which would probably be a bit longer and seat into the case further and 10.0 grains of Trail Boss touches the base of the boolit…

I started with the 70% rule with 7.0 grains and worked up…

I found that 8.0 grains was the most accurate in a T/C Super 14”…

I got good accuracy with about 8.5 gr. of Trail Boss under 311291 and 31141.
