So yesterday, I stop in the local gun shop and what do I see?
A shiny new H&R Handi Rifle in 25-06, 26" bbl & close out priced at 229.00.
Danged if it didn't follow me home :D
Any suggestions on a mold for this critter and starting loads cast?
I've got a pile of 25 caliber goodies, but they're all j-words.

I would first look for a boolit with a short lube / inside case neck portion and a longer nose. Try to get around 120 grain. As far as charges, I would first try the old standby 16 gr. 2400. It almost always works and then you can play around with other charges while having something reliable to shoot.

I picked up the the Ideal/Lyman 100 gr pointed mold at a gun show earlier this year and it shoots very well at 50 yards in my 250/3000. I usually prefer a flat point for hunting but couldn't pass that mold up at the price. My load is about 13 gr of SR 4759 and yours should be about the same. Sometime this winter I will do the "wet phone book" terminal ballistics test to see if I want to hunt deer with it but I know it will be a dandy target or varmint rifle.

if the rcbs were in the 100gr range i'd have one already.
thats a good design just too long in both the nose and body.

Just think of all the expense of moulds, check, etc. Better let me give you your money back on the gun as I already have the mould, checks, etc.
