A good friend and ex soldier of mine lost his battle with cancer yesterday.
I had Dan as a young recruit at his first duty station.
He spent a lot of time with my family and was adopted as a part of the family.
We stayed in contact over the 22 years that he served our country.
Dan served numerous combat tours and made it home safely each time.
When Dan would come back to the states he would always plan to come into Atlanta and spend a day or two with his other family.
I am truely going to miss him.
My heart goes out to the family he has left behind.
Rest easy my friend.
