Here he is. I got several trail cam pics of him at least half mile away. Sorry, I didn't get him with a boolit. If I had got him a couple weeks ago it would've been with a Maxi-Hunter. Instead I got him with my .308 and 150 gr. Hornady handloads. I'm not setup for casting ............ yet. Once again sorry. Don't mean to offend any casters.

Good buck and no apologies. I've killed quite a few with jacketed, but I think I'll be moving more and more towards cast for hunting from here on out.

I shoot a lot of cast in my .357 and killed a deer with it with 158 gr. swc cast a few years ago. I've not got into cast rifle loads yet. But, I'm really interested though.............

I've used handloads for a long time. It does give a lot of satisfaction knowing it was a cartridge you put together. Maybe next year it'll be a 170-180 gr. cast FP.

congrats my friend ....I was at a range before deer season just to make sure the loads I trained with all summer long were still on with the colder weather when another shooted comented that he would never put the out come of his hunt in the faith of a reload!!! I told him I don't mind shooting store bought loads ...but if a buck of a life time walks out and gives me a shot I know the guy the seated the primeres resiced the cases trickeled the powder and hand cast and weighed each bullet as if that one round was made just for that shot!
...he stood there with a blank look on there face...so I added ...do you know whats inside each aneyry round you bought?....good luck fella!
yes it gives me a great feeling to roll something with a hand roll lol
don't sweat the rifle loads that to will come in time!
good luck and again congrats

Satisfaction in handloading is near the same when you shoot your own boolit. It is just another thing to master. Good job.

Nice deer, and no apologies necessary for a clean kill. I'm still waiting to get a cast boolit deer.

Congrats
