I have owned this 450 for many years and sized thousands of boolits with it. I can't believe I've waited so long to do this simple mod.
I had a piece of 3/8" in my scrap bin. I chucked it up in the lathe, center drilled it and drilled about 2" deep with a 1/4 in. drill. I faced off the end and cut off a piece 1.162" long with a parting tool. I think the pictures are self explanatory. It really makes the 450 a lot smoother to operate.http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/thum_210374ed2a63117f61.jpg (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=2821)http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/thum_210374ed2a63187093.jpg (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=2822)http://castboolits.gunloads.com/imagehosting/thum_210374ed2a6320756f.jpg (http://castboolits.gunloads.com/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=2823)

No kiddin. Huh. I've never owned a Lyman sizer, didn't know they didn't have that part. Both of my RCBSs have that exact piece, so I'd say it's needed. Good job.

Welcome to the site Dave.

My 450 is a very early orange one, no spacer. My old RCBS LAM I has it. Good idea!!!

GP100 - thanks. I was wondering what the complete change looked like with the kit. IIRC it is under $20.00 plus shipping for the kit.
