How do you guys shooting the thumbhole stocks like those? Any downsides?

I love my Richards Wildcat stock, its VERY cumfy. Not a classic style by any measure but the style is great to shoot.

The anti-gun idiots are starting to add thumbhole stocks to the ban list features as they became more common after the last federal "we don't like the loks of your gun" ban. Its stupid but could be something to keep in mind if your state acts stupid. Personally that's almost enough to make me go buy another!

I also like the fact that thumbhole stocks have a very vertical pistol grip, another feature I like.

Pro roo shooters use them almost exclusively here. I guess I'll have to try one one day. I knew a Vietnam vet who used to hunt all sorts of stuff with thumbhole stocks (ex infantry, used to the FN-FAL and M16). Mostly they are seen on varmint rifles but he had some custom sporters made. He was deadly with them.
