I bought some of this a few years ago . It was advtised as like IMR 3031, and it is. But it's a ball powder and has worked great in 45-70 and 223 loads.

Jeff Bartlet had it for sale and I, like so many others whooda, shoulda, coulda, bought a lot more when he had it.

If anybody has some that they don't like, for any reason, I'de be Very Interested.

Thanks in Advance,

I have 2 jugs of CMR100 and find it works better with close to full power loads much better than with reduced loads. It's not very consistant with light charges. Initially, I thought it was pretty close to 3031 in burning speed, but now believe it is quite a bit faster. For instance, a charge of 50 grains of 30031 pushes the Lee 405 FP at 1625 fps. from my Marlin 1895 and a charge of 50 grains of CMR100 pushes the same boolit at 1825 fps. Also, I found that I had to use 10-15% less CMR100 to achieve maxim pressure limits with jacket bullets in my 300 Savage. I have some uses for it, I just don't find it a very versitile powder as I like powders that I can use for reduced loads.

MY CMR 100, lot 500-18 aquired from Bartlet's in March of 02 is extruted and was advertised as 4895 and to use 4895 canister data less 10% for a start load.
I'm sorry to say but I have not taken the time to compare to canister 4895 to see the difference.
I have only loaded CMR 100 in the 6BR with condoms at 30 grains and the 87 gr V-max
