I know exactly what song you are talking about- I caught that rendition at Carnegie Hall being performed by the New York Philharmonic- you remember- if not I'll jog your memory- the guest cellist was Yo Yo Ma- late season 2004. Give up? OK......The name of the song is L'Italiana in Algeri- An Italian Girl in Algiers.

I finally found the song and it is "Right Down the Line",but I didnt find it Under the Eagles. Found it under Gerry Rafferty. Was he/is he an Eagle??????l

Rafferty was originally with a group called Stealers Wheel. I think that group had only limited success—at least in my mind it did!!! I think he also done the song about “giving up the booze and the one night stands”? And so it goes…BCB
