I have 4 .30 caliber rifles. A .30-30 post-64 Winchester, a Mosin-Nagant carbine and a .30-40 Krag infantry rifle, and a 1903 Springfield made in 1918.

I'm seeking on boolit, probably a gas-checked one, that would be suitable for loading in all three. I have a lubricizer, but I can also tumble lube -- and I realize the Mosin may be oversized and require a different sizing or a different mold altogether.

Given all of the above is there one mould/design/weight that sounds suitable for all these rifles?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Lyman's 311041 is the obvious choice for the three .30 cals but the is a "depends". I have used the 311041 in all those cartridges for years with complete success and satisfaction. That includes MNs with groove depths of .311 or smaller.

The Lee 170 FN will work as well as will the RCBS 180 FN but they usually dropp .001 - .002" less than the leman 311041.

work yes accurately in all most likely not.
i have a 30-30, a 95 in 30-40 krag and a 1917
larry's reccomendation of the 311041 would maybe do fairly well in all three.
i have had good luck with the rcbs 150-fngc in them all.
in my 311 cals neither one would do well, there just isn't enough diameter there.
my 311041 just barely makes 311.
i use the 314299 in most of my 311 cals , even in some of those it don't have enough dameter.

Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like two molds, one for the "real" .30s and one for the Mosin. Oh, shoot, I have to buy an extra mold <grin>

The 31141 is an excellent choice. Also suggest that the ugly looking 150 lee gas check, shoots very well in all of my 30's
