Just put togeather a Savage (Stevens) bolt gun with a Shilen 300-221 barrel. My intent was just to make a fun gun and possibly a short range deer rifle. I took it out for the first time today with some J word loads running about 2150 fps with lil gun powder. I was impressed! MOA groups right out of the box with 125gr bullets. My next effort will be with cast boolits. Does anyone have some loads for the whisper with 170 gr lee FN bullets. I'm really only interested in super sonic loads. Thanks!
