.............Visited the troops at the Brooks Army Hospital. This is where soldiers are usually sent from Hospitals in Germany, and especially burn victims. At the facility they have what they call Fisher houses which are residences relatives of patients may stay at free of cost while visiting.

During the tour of the hospital facilities and seeing patients and the Fisher houses, Mr Washington asked what one cost. When it was found out and the information was relayed, Mr Washington took out his checkbook and wrote a check to have another one built. While his visit was a worthy gesture on his part, the rest was well beyond what someone could ask for.

Notably missing was Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn who both apparently had pressing golf tee times elsewhere.

Buckshot, I wonder how many actors contribute to these worth while causes that we don't here about, either from the actor's or organization's press. ... felix

.............I know there are some, and possibly they don't really wish for some of it to be publisized. I know Mel Gibson caught Hollywood flak over his movie, "The Passion of Christ" and also Bruce Willis for his overt support of the troops currently overseas. He also caused a bit of a gasp when a couple years ago he made the statement that firearms availability was not the cause for societys maladies, so far a violence was concerned.

Tom Selleck is another who has fallen from SAG grace due to his pro-gun beliefs as have a few others. Somewhere I ran across a place on the net that had a connection to a listing of mainstream actors/actresses' who were 'praiseworthy' for various things they'd done.

It would be good to locate something like that so these folks know that they're appreciated. I suspect there are many of them.

Well since this post by Buckshot has transpired Rosie O'Donald has made a nationwide announcement about how much she hates Bush and even went as far as to say he's a traitor and should be shot. Can you imagine that? I just concider the source from which this came.
