Still a Marine when I'm wearing Army Green!

A Soldier asked me if I was a Ex-Marine one time. I told him I was a Marine on Active Duty with the Army. I then explained to him how Marine NCOs once served as officers in the Haiti and Nicauragan National Guards in the 1930s to improve their efficiency. I told him it was the same program for the 21st Century...and then told him to get to work.

Happy Birthday Marines!
It has been almost 20 years since I ***** the eagle, globe and anchor, but I attended a cake cutting cerimony today with a group of forward deployed Marines here in Afghanistan, it did my heart good to see that the Corps is still in good hands, Semper Fi.

I was never blessed enough to serve but I make it a habit to thank all for their service.

23+ years in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club makes me very glad we have the Marines. It is also a proud tradition that Marines have been holding their balls for all those years. I was even invited and attended twice.

Gotta admit there were several times, in different places, when I was really glad to see Marines. By the same token, generally in bars, there were times when I was not so glad to see Marines. We all played hard and rough back then. Wouldn't trade the memories for anything. Happy birthday Jar Heads!
