What are the opinions in regards to the Rossi lever action in 357 as far as accuracy out to 100 yrds. I am looking at possibly purchasing a new one in order to compete in that discipline.

It will work just fine. Get the Lee 125RF, load it over 5-5.5/231 or 4.5-4.9 Bullseye and have at it. I have 2 Rossi's (a 20" carbine and 24" rifle) and they both will stay under 3"at 100 yds with that bullet. My 94 winchester will also. The Lee and RCBS 9MM 120-124 gr TC bullets will shoot as well. I shoot both in our lever silhouette matches at our club.

That's good to hear, I'll take delivery tomorrow of a Rossi R-92 in 45 colt. I expect to never shoot J-words from it, I have the 300 RF lee, and just got the 255 RF lee. I can't wait to shoot it. I may try some 45 auto in 200 HP from Miha's cramer mold. IF it will feed and function.

Darn, that sounds like I plan on shooting a 45 auto from that Rossi. Nope I meant boolits normally meant for 45 auto in a colt case! :groner:

I can vouch for the 255rf Lee and the Miha 200 rf HP in a .45 Colt.

I should be receiving my 24" .357 from Steve Young in a few weeks. I will be shooting exclusively black powder from mine - 158 gr snakebite greasewagon over 20 gr 3f Swiss in a 38 special case.

I'm really looking forward to shooting it. I've been using my Marlin 39a .22 up to this point - it got me up to AAA, but loosing the 2-3,4 rams to ringers gets old...
