The MagnetoSpeed Rifleman Chronograph

NOT in production, yet. :groner:

Barrel mounted. Uses magnetometers, not light sensors.

I hope they can get this thing to work and sell millions, and make lots of money! [smilie=w:

I"m still wondering how a non-ferrous metal can be read by a magnet sensor.

It reads a disturbanse in the magnetic field.

Eddy currents.

It must work on the same principle as a common metal detector. Most metals will disturb a magnetic field. The field lines have difficulty going through them.

Great concept, can't wait to see where this goes. Pact and others will get in on the technology I bet. Sensor spacing seems awfully close, but maybe better clocks hav made this less of an issue.

Not recommended for lead due to inconsistent results... Bummer!
Makes it useless for my needs.

It looks super convenient, but expensive, no good with lead and I don't see how you could mount it on a traditional moving slide semi auto pistol.

Not for me.

If I hung that off the end of my .300 win mag, which has a muzzle brake, it will end up in little pieces!

Did anybody see a price tag on them?

I doubt one can perform accuracy testing in conjunction with chronographing.

Interest page says introductory price is $250.

it seems to me the point of impact would change with it hanging on the end of the barrel.

It might change the point of impact a little but it's job is to record of the boolit speed not where the boolet will hit.
