As I have posted before, I tend to do a casting "season" from about November to March or so, casting all of my boolits for the upcoming Highpower season and getting ahead on everything else.

Well, I started tonight. Cast my usual SAECO 301, alternating at first with some .44 Keiths and then switched (don't really shoot a whole bunch of those) to a .45 SWC (H&G 68 copy we ran a few years back.) Cast for about an hour and a half.

Not a bad way to spend a Sunday evening.

Agree it is not a bad way to spend an evening, any day of the week for that matter. I try to spend about 2 1/2 - 3 hours per casting session with a 5--10 min stretch and coffee/decoffee break about every hour. Longest session I ever ran was a little over 4 hours. Durn near killed my back, but sure did get a whoop of blts cast.

I tend to have long casting sessions. I usually pick a nice and sunny day and I start at about 11:00 and cast until my coleman stove runs out of fuel. It usually lasts all day and I'm able to cast about 500 to 600 per session. I use two Lee bullet moulds, a 124 grain .356 for my 9mm and 255 grain .452 for my colt .45 clone. I weighed 400 255 grain and it weighed about 16 lbs. and 400 124 grain weighed about 6 lbs. Those big bullets sure eat up the lead!
