Guys, we have another member that is in need. You may have seen some items listed for sale by member OeldeWolf. He has nearly $3,000in medical bills and is having to sell his treasured collection.

I have Richard's permission to mention his problems here and, since he is incapacitated some days, to act as honcho in this fund drive. While we might not be able to erase the entire debt, hopefully we can ease the pain a bit. I'll start with a $50 contribution, who else is in? You can contribute via PayPal, if you use the personal gift option. My PP account is TrooperDan@prodigy.net Checks may be sent to:

Gentlemen, I am having a hard time knowing what to say. Thank you seems so inadequate.

This has been such a turn around year for me. A truly humbling experience. Having always been the one to help others, this is a new, and almost overwhelming experience.

I keep rewriting this, because nothing seems right. But I have to get going, as I am one of the lucky ones. I still have a job, and the meds are keeping me moving. Plus or minus a cane at times <chuckles>

The spirit of the folks here has often struck me before, but realy has me in near tears now. This is allowing me to make progress on the medical expenses, which I was despairing of.

Just... wonderful and humbling all at the same time.

Inadequate response, I am sure. But... just can not find a better way to say it.

Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Just about in tears here. So many helping. Usually is is me doing things. Being a mechanic, church, family, extended family/family of choice have always kept me busy. But for the past couple years, it was getting harder to do. Of course, now I know why. But this is ... well, I have seen it here before, and it always made me feel good to see. I have rarely been able to contribute, but wanted to. And now...

It does choke me up.

Pat, you are right about the stress. I find that the levels of stress I used to deal with well, now just make it harder to do anything/ And after a lifetime of usually late hours trying to get things done, I find those are no longer an option unless I want to do impersonations of the living dead. Yep, sometimes I learn slow.

I find it frustrating, not getting things done like i used to. It is taking a lot of work to try and realize/learn I just can not do like I used to. My daughter and her family came to visit this year, and I did some talking and showing him about reloading. Saw that it had been 3 years since I last loaded any rifle bullets. Talk about shock. But the date was there in the book.

And greywolf, thank you for not only helping, but showing me a way I can help in the future, which will be within my capabilities.

To everyone, I have felt like this was a bit of hometown here. That has not changed, but gotten stronger. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

PatMarlin
11-13-2011, 01:12 PM
Tell you what OeldeWolf, I've got an idea of what you're going through when you mention what stress is doing to you.

Since I started and took on the task of my current business, Patmarlins, the accumulation of stress reached hazard levels and peaked about 3 months ago. I was losing it, and getting physically rattled and it got so bad my wife had to leave and go spend some time with her mother for about 4 weeks. Well she is going through the change, and that had a lot to do with it but between issues with machine breakdowns, getting behind on orders, and everyday life thrown in on top of the mix I was becoming a first class *******.

And- like you mentioned, I was looking at dates of my casting, shooting, and fishing in my logs and was shocked to see 07 showing most of the last entries.

Knowing I had to do something about it, I went back to herbs (hold on the California jokes please... the legal kind!..) and ordered a couple of combination formula paks and within 2-3 weeks I was feeling great and getting back to sleep at night.

I know many folks think it's BS, but years ago I've seen people healed first hand including myself with the products of one company in particular. I knew a lady who was a nutritionist who used this companies herbs with her restaurant back in Sacramento, and would heal people off the street, and one of my close friends as well by treating the cause and not just the symptoms.

Anyway- the company is Natures Sunshine.

Now they have convenient herbal paks, for various health issues and stress is one. You don't need a specialist to prescribe extracts, like they used to.

These are powerful herb paks combinations in capsule form. Once in the morning with breakfast, and once in the evening with dinner. No stomach side effects like heavy vitamins.

For stress I'm taking:
http://www.herbspecialists.com/natures-sunshine-product.php?Stock_Number=5384-4

http://www.herbspecialists.com/natures-sunshine-product.php?Stock_Number=1017-1

I have kidney stones, and have had trouble with my urinary system so I also have been taking these:
http://www.herbspecialists.com/natures-sunshine-product.php?Stock_Number=5387-3

Company info:
http://www.naturessunshine.com/us/company/quality/

A dealer with a good online analysis test:
http://www.herbspecialists.com/natures-sunshine-lifestyle.htm

In about 2 weeks time I went from a stressed out nut case to sleeping through the night and starting to feel great. I can relax and focus now, and get my work done which has really increased my productivity as well as not worrying about taking a day and doing something fun. Yesterday, I spent the whole day cleaning up and reorganizing my man cave and reloading bench. Today, I'm going to work up some loads and do some shooting. 4 weeks ago I was so stressed out, I couldn't do it.

Is it a lot of money? Yes. Compared to Dr. visits and meds? No. Take it for what it's worth. I have no financial ties or nothing to personally gain in promoting this company.

Hope you get on the mend soon... :drinks:

Not really fluxed with money right now but I will make the direct donation that I can and I will throw in an odd auction.

The folks on this board have been very very kind and generous in helping me with raw materials for my flintknapping quest. In their honor and for OeldeWolf's benefit I will offer up a handknapped arrow head made by me. The point will be tastefully displayed on a sawn slab of Michigan Petosky stone for display purposes if the winner chooses to have it mounted. It is also available loose if the winner so chooses to go that route in order to go mastadon hunting. The nearly 3 inch long point is made from semi transluscent Texas Rootbeer Flint that was sent to me by the GearKnasher Klan.

THE POINT:

Well to be dead honest it pulled at my heart a bit when I pulled it out of the keeper case but I cannot think of a better cause to do so. It is the first point that I have made that made me totally proud of my efforts. That flat spot is where the flake ro make this point used to be married to the mother rock until I hit it with a moose billet to detach said flake.

I should be able to get some more petoskey slabs from where I got these and I will make another point for the anthropology department if you wish it so. I would be more than happy to do this for the cause.

Q. Does it matter what the point is out of for the anthropology department? How about a big point made out of recycled ZenithStone (television glass)? I have a lot of telelvision glass and I can make some pretty big objects out of it when the sun and stars align themselves correctly. :bigsmyl2: You can actually see what happened in the ripples of the glass better than you can see it in rock as it is a smokey yet clear material that allows you to view both faces at once.

Guys, Sorry for being out of touch! I was gone for over a week at Christmas, home only 2 days then gone again for a month. I have limited 'net access where I am but I'll try to get things closed up here!
I can tell you we had over 40 members contribute over $1,000 for OldeWolfe ! I'm in the process of sending Richard (OldeWolfe) and accounting but it has been a bear to track everything what with auctions, gifts, etc. I'm afraid I cropped the ball by being out of contact over the holidays. If there is a deal hanging fire that I haven't answered, please let me know, a post here would be best until I get my inbox cleared some.

Dan
