Just got a new 356-125-2R mold for for use in my CZ 75B. I use data from the Lyman 4th Ed. CB Handbook.

Can someone who uses RCBS 9mm-124-CN tell me the as-cast weight of the boolit and the length of the boolit. Thanks.

I can only tell you the Lee 356-120gn tc. Length is .555 and they drop at 125-126 gns. I have never had a mold that casts the exact weight as stated.

Thanks. My 356-120-TC's drop at 122 gr and are .560 long.

Then why did you ask?

I'm asking for information on RCBS 9mm-124-CN.

Oh. Sorry about that I didn't see the RCBS reference.

Uhhh, the 356402 is a Lyman mould. From 3/3/94 alloy, mine weigh 124 gr and are .631" long

Again, thanks, my 356402's drop at 122.5 gr and are .625 long. My 358242's drop at 122 gr. and are .580 long. That covers all my nominal 120 gr. slugs.

My new 356-125-2R is 126.5 gr as cast and is .565 long.

I'm trying to get some comparitive data on a same weight slug to determine OAL and load data.
The MAX COAL fir the 125-2R in my CZ 75B is 1.066. Lyman data for the RCBS 9mm-124-CN gives an OAL of 1.050. Therefore I'm trying to find the as-cast weight and length of 124-CN from a current user.

For the 356-125 2R, my weights run 126-128 gr from about 3/3/94 alloy and are .575" long. I started out using 1.063" OAL for my Briley match barrel in my 1911 but after smoothing out the chamber/rifling lead, I now use 1.08" which feeds better in my gun. Hope that helps.

Great, that's what I needed.

Given the following comparison should I be able to safely use the Lyman data for RCBS-124-CN to load 356-125-2R:

RCBS 9mm-124-CN
As-cast weight 126 - 128
As-cast length .575
OAL 1.050 per Lyman CB Handbook
Bullet depth inside case .275 given case length .750

Lee 356-125-2R
As-cast weight 126.5 (3/2/95 alloy)
As-cast length .565
OAL 1.055 given MAX OAL of 1.066
Bullet depth in case .260 given case length of .750

As always, start at the start level per the manual and work up in your gun. Have fun....
