This mold should be at home when i get there ( can't wait to cast em and shoot some boulders) Does anyone have any experience as to which crimp groove will cycle best in a rossi in 45 colt? I'll be loading over H110. i have some lasercast 300 fp over 23 grains and the rugers loves them. The truncated cone does not cycle well in the rossi. I'd like to be able to load one size fits both and work a load that shoots well in the rifle and the pistol. I've not cast them yet, but am expecting checked and lubed for them to some out of ww somewhere bewteen 310-320: does anyone have a good thumper load that worked for them. I am expecting to end up around 23- 24 grain h110 ( 24 being absoulute max).
Thanks,
Jason

I can't speak to the Rossi, but I use that boolit in my Puma .454 Casull. In my gun, it has to be seated to crimp in the forward groove (short) to feed properly.

These bullets weighed in at 315 gr double tumble lubed and checked sized 452. Loaded over 23 h110 and set them 6 at 1.585 forward groove. Same load at rear groove 1.640. Both cycled very well through the rossi and chambered in both rugers. Fired the 1.640 and felt like a "light" recoil and had what appeared to be unburnt powder. the 1.585 boomed like my other 23g/300 h110 loads. Both loads had cases falling out. I think I"m going to use the longer lenght and move the load up. I've loaded three at 23.5 . My goal is the linebaugh load of 24 under these 315 gc's. So far this seems safe and acheivable. Does anyone have any negative experience with this combo of weight and charge off h110 or see a big pothole I'm about to hit? Both load lenghts shot touching holes offhand yesterday.
Thanks<

Are you using a magnum primer?

Yes sir. I usually use the WLP, but could not locate any of those so I used the CCI 350 magnums
