Has anyone ever slugged their XDm barrel?

I slugged my 45ACP 4.5" Springfield Armory XDM barrel after getting some strange activity at the range.

Just for comparison sake, I also slugged my Kimber 45ACP.

The Kimber .452
The XDm .450

We did use very high quality dial calipers and measured at several points on the slug.

So it looks like Springfield is making a much tighter barrel. Which means that I'm going to likely need a .451 sizing die.

Has anyone else slugged an XDm barrel?

Both barrels for my 1911 and my P-245 barrel are .451 My Sig P-220 (Browning BDA) is .453 .

same problem existed when I slugged my brothers 9mm xdm 5.25. It was at least .002 smaller than my storm lake glock.

Dial calipers are accurate to +/- .001. Use a good .0001" micrometer if you are
serious.

Digital micrometer. Not caliper

I am not sure what strangle results you see at the range. With my brothers the boolits hit the target sideways till I dropped the velocity by 100fps. His xdm has a much faster twist than my 9mm storm lake barrel.
P.S.; its a great gun once I dialed in the load for it.

I have slugged two 9 mm XD(m) barrels using Starrett mikes. They miked .3545" and .3550". Tt.

The older 5" XD that I have measures out at .4505.

Just got my XDm 45 a couple of months ago and it slugged at .451.
