Some results from a few more experiments with cast HP's in revolvers. First are a few things learned with non-traditional weight cast HP's in the .44 Special, including a 188 grain cast HP in the 3" S&W 696:

Also, some results with the 358477 HP from an Ohlen 2-cavity HP mould:

This is a dandy little bullet.

Love the 358477, recently ran into a deal at a gun show and bought a pair of near mint
condition 4 cavity molds with handles and original boxes for $80 for the pair!
In hog heaven. I may get my 2 cav converted like you have. I have a 2 cav 358429
that Erik did with the indivitual Cramer pin setup, and it works very well. I think the 358477
HP may be my next job for Erik.

Thanks for another great article.

Thanks Glen. I get good results w/ teh original Dev mold @ high end 44sp vel in my M629 3". They cast about 250gr using 25-1 or 50/50 ww/lead alloy. Expansion is quite good @ 900fps.

Great article Glen! I love this .44 stuff.

One question? does your Marlin have the chamber mouth chamfered? It might help it to feed better.
