Earlier today they had more 44 SPLs and 45 ACP revolvers and they all look like keepers too.

Wow, 32 Long 6" hand ejector with barely a turrn line. It is beautiful but just longs to go out in the hills. Some collector has passed on evidently.

Don't forget to check out the S&W bunch at 'smith-wessonforum.com'. The members are very knowledgeable and friendly and are selling and trading smiths all the time.

I missed a chance years back to buy a Mdl 27 5" barrel in the wood box for a great price, still kicking myself for passing on it.

I passed on one recently and have been kicking my self in the butt to. What makes it worse is my buddy bought it, took a picture of me shooting it, and now e-mails me the picture everyday. He swore to e-mail me that dang picture everyday until either the internet dies, I die, or he dies. It's nice to have friends huh?

Yea it is fun to look at those hand guns. The model 27 target is tempting me terriblely.

Love Life, I think I can speak for all of us and give your buddy a whack on the shoulder. LOL

....to see what the guns sold for? On eBay you can do "show completed listings". Is there an equivalent on GB?
That really is a great collection of S&W's. I have a 5 screw 29 and the last bid I saw was $2895.

Well, the one I passed up wasn't in the wood box, but it was sweet! For several years I beat myself up over that dumb move, then last year I found redemtion.

I was in my favorite gun shop for some work on an old Argentine Carbine when I just happened to look at a display board back in a hallway. Hmmm, that's not a 4" barrel. I asked, and walked out with my pinned barrel 5" 27-2. It's here beside me now.

In my case I just got lucky, but keep looking, good things do happen to good people!:p

Which one did you get?

The model 27-2 with the 8 3/8" barrel. I bid $651 and that almost did it. Then I bid $670. It is pinned and recessed, has nickel finish and smooth stocks. It was the lowest costing one in that bunch of 357s last night.

I'm not sure of a way to see what they sold for either.

So it was cheaper than that minty model 28 Highway Patrolman?

I own one and it is a sweet revolver, that was until the tragic boating accident
