The problem im having is the aol All my books say 2.550 .When i seat these in the crimp grove and crimp the boolit there 2.595 . .I've run them through my 1895 GST and they cycle fine . better to ask first thanks to all you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it works for you, great. Lyman's OAL length of 2.550 puts the case mouth very near the edge of the top driving band for me and I think this boolit was not designed with a crimp groove. I'm using a very light roll crimp but my taper crimp die just arrived this week, can't wait to give it a try in the Guide Gun. JMHO, of course, YMMV.

set the o/a for the gun first
the manual listings are references
each guns chambers are different but manuals need to assume their
references will work in every firearm

Yes, of course. In my Guide Gun Lyman's published OAL happens to work quite well with my Lyman 457193. Usually doesn't work that way for me either.

Dave,
The 457193 was originally designed for the 1895 Marlin 45-70 and was to be crimped over the front driving band.

Shoot 'em they are fine. I have the same issue with my 1895/450 Marlin. If they cycle they are fine.

Main thing is that they cycle OK, I think that's part of the reason for the 2.550 OAL. Mine will cycle cartridges a bit over 2.550, just not much. I don't think .45-70 boolits much enjoy a jump from the case mouth to rifling but we have to get them in the chamber, right?
