Depending on alloy and velocity that SHOULD work. I use a 135 grain 7MM "soup can" bullet in the 7TC/u and 7-30 waters with great success. My alloy for the tc/u is ww/lead to a BHN of 12.Straight WW is about 12 to 14, and I want just a little softer for hunting.ACWW works fine in the bigger 7-30 case. I can get 1900 fps with the tc/u and over 2200 in the Waters.. I would advise testing the penetration of the bullets in wet paper and water jugs at the distances you expect to shoot a deer. Too much expansion or not enough penetration means a change SOME where. Either velocity or alloy

Well, tomorrow I will do a write-up on the 31141 in a 308 encore 15" on hogs. I can tell you that my bhn of 16 is WAY too much. Post and lots of PICS to follow.

I also have one of the Lee six-banger GBs that is marked as 312X150 with a 0.250 meplat.

Is that enough "nose"?

Oh yes. My 31141 only has a nose of about .240, so you have plenty for shock value.

@ 2000fps it puts 1" holes through deer. I have been amazed in a few rifles how accurate it is!
