Does anyone do this. I love this boolit in my 30-30's, and was wondering if anyone has tried it a bolt action 308. I am pretty sure that it will suffer in long range shooting, 150 plus yards, but thought I could shoot this at a hundred yards. Any comments are appreciated. If this isn't a good round, can you suggest a good mold. Thanks!!

Have used this bullet for years, mostly in .30-06, but also in 30-30, .308, and .30-Herrett. It did good work in all of them.

It is a GREAT 100-yard hunting bullet, if you're not trying to set speed records.

Might not be the most accurate - you often have to try a LOT of loads to get one that works well, but hey, shooting a lot is one of the best reasons for molding bullets!

In my heavy barrellled 700 Remington, using H4227, Im getting grouips from 3/4 inch to 1 1/8inch very consistently. For me it's the go to bullet for 30 cal.

I have had very good results with this boolit in my .308 over 19 to 22 grs. IMR4227.

Also, a friend used some of my loads in his Savage 99 lever action .308 to win a shoot ~ small local shoot but still he, was shooting against "J" bullets.

I've had good results with the 31141 in 30-06, 308, 30-40 Krag, 7.5 Swiss, and a B barreled Finn Mosin.

Shoots fine in bolt actions in other .30 cals than 30-30. I've used it for years in the .308W and the '06 for deer to 200 yards. It is my "go to" .30 cal hunting bullet.

It's almost like you're flashing the Ben-signal. Can't believe he hasn't chimed in yet. YES - I use this boolit in my .308 with good success, just targets and steel, but I'm pretty sure Ben took out some whitetailed deer with it last year.

This is good news. I'm going to give it a try then. It has been great in my 30-30, so I'm looking forward to trying it. Thanks for the info!

I have the Lee version, and it is my ONLY .30-cal bullet. I've used it in the .30-30, .308 and even a 30 Herrett. Great bullet.

Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook, 4th edition lists it for the .308, and several other 30 caliber cartridges.

I think the 311041 was listed as the 31141 in Lyman's 3rd edition CB handbook. Yep, just looked it up. t'was.

Add 100 yards to your best accuracy estimate.

I am going to be ordering some sizing dies for this boolit and I was wondering what you are using? I am currently sizing my 311041 to 309, but I have only been using it in pre-64 winchester 30-30's. I am thinking that 311 is good place to start, but I am not sure. Won't have access to the rifle, as my nephew is using on a hunting trip, for another couple weeks.

I've got an older '99 with the lever safety in .308 and it shoots this boolet very well with Re-7. Downed a few hogs with it, also.

Shoots well in all my 30's including my 308 Sav, and my K-31 Swiss when sized down to .309. Have it in HP and standard, and find the HP version to have a very slight advantage in accuracy in my rifles.
