I had to order a few things recently and noticed shortages at all or most suppliers of the following:

Lee 6 cav handles
Rem primers (all of them and have been for AWHILE)
Bulk pack (500 or 1K) 50 and 55 gr jacketed .22 bullets

Not worried about who has or where I can get, just an observation.

Anyone else running into out of stock of back ordered common items?

I kinda wondered if the primer and .22 bullet shortages have
anything to do with a WHOLE lot of them being used in Iraq
and Afghanistan? I know they don't use varmint bullets in
5.56 NATO, but if Sierra has all their .224" bullet machines
turning out 69gr FMJs for warshot, they may have no time to
do rodentshot.

In our infinite wisdom we have closed down all our small arms
ammunition plants but Lake City, which I have heard has been
running 24/7 for years trying to keep up. Lake City is on the
east side of the KC metro area, in case anyone wondered.

Rem primers have been very hard to get in my neck of the woods here in loosiana. Most shooters that I know all use winchester. Seems as though no one sells them around here. CCI, FED or WIN are available. I know some of the surplus dealers were out of both 223 and 308 mil surp brass. Seems they sell it as fast as they get it. Gotta be going someplace.

Another angle is the 'just in time' inventory control.
In my industry most everything comes off shore to distribution centers, there's 12.
It's not much of a surprise they seldom prognosticate usage right.
Most industries and the government don't keep much in the warehouse.

just picked up 4 cases of fed primers at 100 bucks a case. My dealer still sells them to me as cheap as i can buy on the net with shipping and hazmat.

I think Mr. Clinton was responsible for shutting down 6 US arsenals during his little stint in DC. The military can not be short changed and the veterans need to be taken care of. When will some of our politicians learn this. I'm not even going to comment on my thoughts of Mrs. Clinton running the White House. Hell ..... she stole the furniture the last time she left.
