ive a new 4 cavity mould for 22rf both healed and flat based for breach seating from a reputable supplier which the sprue plate holes are not centered on the cavities. bullets have base fill out problems. whars to be done for this type problem? ive tried 25-1 alloy temperatures 750-950 with the mould preheated to 650 deg f tipped rocked ect tks for any assistance offered. jon.

Send it back and make the manufacturer fix it. If they're "reputable" they will.

This is a manufacturing defect; they should replaced the mold for you. Call your supplier and then the maker if necessary.

FWIW-Off center sprue holes don't seem to cause too many problems, in fact they can be a help in some situations. Your issue may be related to venting. I'd suggest reading the stickies of "leementing". Simply chasing the vent lines and very, very lightly breaking the top edge of the moulds halves can help enormously, but you ahve to proceed very carefully. This is no place to "get a bigger hammer"!!!
