Anyone tried AA2015BR with cast bullets...like in a K31 or .308 WCF? The Hodgen chart shows that the burn rate falls almost in the middle between IMR3031 and IMR4198 so it would appear to be a viable selection. I used the stuff with great success for years with Jbs in 7BR Rem. and 7.62x39 and have about 2/3 of a 5-pounder left over now that I've sold my XP-100 and SKS.

I have used it in the 308 with cast , but for some reason the group sizes is missing from the load notes and it was 2001
So to much time has gone by to remember anything about it .

The load notes list a 160 gr GC bullet and 32 gr , CCI LR primer .
With a estamated / expected velosity of 1900 - 2000 fps

With no notes that I ran the load over the Cronagraph

So either I didn't like the groups .
Or more likely , I plinked with them and didn't remember to write anything down when I was done

It works great in the 45/70 with cast

I used it in a BF pistol chambered for .30 Max years ago to shoot handgun
sillywhets. I don't remember the load offhand, but could look it up.
Shot many a 40's with it.

Yeah, Denny...that's where I started using it, too - sillywhats and the old S&W Masters course in an XP100 chambered for 7BR. 30.5 gr behind a Speer 120 JSP would consistently run sub-MOA groups but I never tried working up a cast load for that gun.

Studying the load tables and case capacity specs, it's beginning to look like IMR 4198 data just might be the way to go, using 90% (by weight) of the listed IMR starting loads and working up from there.

I use it in the 356 Win for j-word bullets. I have had better results with other powders in cast but it seems like it worked goos in the 30-30's. I am in beautiful downtown Cut Bank MT this morning and within 300 miles of my notes or I could tell you more. Gianni.

Kraschinburn, I've used AA 2015BR (when I could get it), in several cartridges that are similar to the 7.5 x 55mm: 7.65 x 53mm, 8 x 57mm, 7.62 x 54R, and even the 7.62 x 63mm (.30-06). It performed very well, gave excellent accuracy and burned clean. Looking at my notes, I found it to be close to H/IMR 4198 in burning rate in the previously mentioned cartridges. For CB use in the 7.5 x 55, start at 22.5gr. and work up to 25.5gr. if you must. 23-24gr. 2015BR with 150 -> 180gr. CB's would be just about perfect in my view. Hope this helps!

AA2015 is my fav. powder for heavy loads in the 45/70, especially when using 450+gr. bullets in my Marlin '95.
