So my Keith .40 caliber mold works well in my 610 but not in my autos. It's just to long. My new idea is a wide flat nose type 200 grain 73% meplant. I'm thinking if I have one cavity hpd that will give me a 180 grain or so hollowpoint. I'm going to run both at 1100 fps or so. Any thoughts before I have Dan cut it?
Thanks

Lee six cavity 401-175-TC does double duty for my 40 cals and 10mm. .401" works well for me using LLA and a light dusting of Motor Mica to alleviate tackiness. I've fired several thousand through my Glock 20 and S&W 1006. My alloy is 92% Lead, 3% Tin and 6% Antimony. Given that this is a fairly hard mix, I see no advantage to a hollow point design.

Top MV for the 10mm with this bullet for me is 1,200 - 1,225 fps [clocked] depending on gun; I've experienced zero leading.

Not a 200 grain bullet of course, but for me the 175 is about as perfect as it'll ever get and given the low cost of the mold, it's pretty much a consumable item. Accuracy is outstanding and gun functioning has been flawless. Cartridge overall length is held to between 1.235" - 1.240"; neck diameter is held to .420"-.421". I've fired many 10mm 200 grain loads, all J-type projectiles, but just never developed an affinity for that weight.

I have a 205 grain RFN I acquired in trade a few years back. It is a Mountain Mold. Since I didn't do the design, I don't know what percent the metplat is. They guys who designed it also intended the mold for his 38-40 and gave it a crimp groove. I just ignore the groove.

This bullet has fed great in all three of my 10mm autos, seated to a COL of 1.260". I push it to max charges of Blue Dot and AA#9 and have no leading. Shot about 150 of them through my P16-40 (10mm conversion) on Saturday and one pass with the nylon brush had the bore shiny.

I also cast Lee 175gr SWC TL. These feed fine in my Witness's, but are finicky in the 1911 unless the COL is 1.250" or below.

Man, that is a good looking bullet! It looks strikingly similar to BABore's 401640. That looks just fantastic!
