Is there a website that I can use to plug in some of your data and find the ballistics of the round I am are using?? As in energy and trajectory?? I have a chrono so I know the velocity. Any input is appreciated!!

Over a year ago when I started with the black powder cartridge craziness I was told about JBM balistics which I have used extensively. I found their online calculators to be pretty close to exact for figuring bullet drop and such. I use Lee 500gr molds for my 45-70 shooting so get the ballistics coefficient off their website and like you, I also have a chronograph so you can plug in the numbers. Our shooting range has weather now so I can also add the tings like temp, humidity, etc.

Wow I just tried the JBM ballistics, I liked it--very neat little program.

Thank you

Here's another one.
That is a trajectory calculator, not a ballistic coefficient calculator.

None of these are "BC calculators". Given the variety of bullets & styles no way to do it. The only way to get exact BC requires one heckuva lot of effort and two chronos.

If the bullet you are using isn't listed with a BC from the manufacturer, data manual or one of the labs, find a bullet with similar shape, specs and use that for the BC. It's surprising how close it will work out when tested at the range. I too use the free, online JBM. And, also true with these is, "junk in - junk out"

Norma has a nifty free online calculator that is interactive... but last I checked they dropped the full English language supported version. So unless you can read Swedish- good luck :)

If you read the OP's post it applies.

There are one or two ballistic coefficient calculators on the web but I found they don't accept real life cast boolit dimensions - like nose radius.
