Does anybody know what the tool on top is used for? It was loose among a box of tools and I can't tell what it goes to or how it would work.

My first thought was a hollowpointing tool for cast boolits.

OK, that was my only thought.

Do you even know if it is reloading related?
A really bad nut-cracker?

Same here, a home made HB/HP tool?

That or a coffee table conversation piece for CBA.

looks to me like it is a home made case trimmer that uses a 60 degree countersink as a cutter.

I think the big diameter on the screw must have a set screw for fine adjustment and for rotating the cutter. The bolt on the other end is used for a cartridge base and coarse adjustment.

I say use it for what ever you want or whatever it works for.

Does anyone have one of the OLD Goerg hollow pointers? I've not seen one in 30 years and never owned one, but this item seems to make me vaguely recall that product. I just can't clearly remember it.

If I were to guess, I'd say the top tool is for hollow pointing bullets. It appears too short for case trimming, but I'd have to see what parts turn. The bottom tool looks like a bullet mold hollow point insert...

Definitely two different tools, I forgot to address the one at the bottom of the pic.

The botton tool is the base plug for a Lyman nose pour hollow base mini.
The top looks to be a homeade wiget.. Mabe for hollow baseing a flat based mini ball of some sort.

Either a hollow point or chamfer tool.

Don't know what it was but it would sure work for the above mentioned purposes. Got half a mind to make one now...

I assume the top one is reloading related because I found it in a box of reloading tools.

Thanks for the replies. I'll have to look through some of the bullets that were in the box with the tool and see if any of them are hollow point.

And the bottom tool goes with a Lyman mould. I wonder which one of my Lyman moulds it goes with. I'll have to take a look through them as well to see if I can tell.
