We are out camping close by with our RV group so drove home this morning to feed the dogs get mail ETC she didn't meet us at the door and when I checked she was in bad shape. Poison? Some poisons go right to the liver. Any neighbors not like you or the dog?

I sure hope this was just an unfortunate death to natural causes.

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Losing a pet can be very devastating, especially when it is unexpected.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. My wife lost her 2 with-in weeks of each other. One had seizures and the other had Pacreatitus. With-in a month she had 2 more. My doxie is not wife friendly. They are wonderful companions.

I agree they are friends like none you will ever see in a two legged form. Be glad you had her that long. We got our little buddy about 3 years ago when he was 11. It will be some very bad days when we are where you are.

Vet say's she had liver failure that may have been building for some time. She was always frisky and full of energy but all of a sudden this just went rampant.
He asked us if we took Tylenol but we don't even have it in the house. I walked the yard numerous times looking for something she may have gotten into, zero neighbor problems.
We'll miss her, the male we have already does I think.

It is something of a shock, but it's actually easier to take when they go suddenly, like that.
When they slowly fail over the course of a couple of years, you spend every day dreading what you know will eventually be required ... not to mention the burden of having to decide which day is the final one.

I've had it both ways, and quick-n-easy is definitely quicker and easy - er.

Sad to hear of your loss.

Just because they're little and fuzzy doesn't mean we love 'em less...

The loss of a family dog is only exceeded by the loss of a child. My condolences!

Sorry about you pup Tom and Mrs. Tom.
Zues there in my avatar is not a pet he is my buddy. He loves going in the truck with me everywhere I go. My daughter has grown up with him and he watches over her like a mother hen.

Spoke with the vet yesterday, her gall bladder ruptured, that gave the signs of liver failure but the blood test showed gall bladder. She may have had gall stones causing the blockade that caused the rupture.

It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved. I know exactly how you feel and I am truly sorry for your loss. Nothing but time will heal the pain.

Very glad to hear no foul play, but it is a great loss of a friend.

They are such reliable friends, such a loss. I hope you get a new
pet soon to try to distract you from the heartache. Nothing like a
puppy to cheer you up.

Thanks we are checking the local Dachshund rescue's to see if there is a little girl we can adopt. When we first got her I balked at breeding her and our male but passed because of the task of raising all them puppies.
