Anyone heard of this stuff before? I picked up a small plastic jar at the gun shop this afternoon. It is marked "Blue & Gray" "Lead Casters Flux" and has union and confederate soldiers on opposite sides of the label facing each other. Gonna give it a whirl and see how it works.

Either PAM! or vegetable oil works great.
Good luck with Blue and Grey. I had heard of it.

For most purposes, crushed charcoal or wood shavings stirred with a hardwood stick does it all. For bottom pour furnaces having dirt inclusion problems - Buck Beaver lead caster's flux is amazing. I thought I was already using the best stuff on earth and then I tried BBLCF.

G'day.
I have been using it for years. It's great for stirring in to clean the dirt out of the melt.
Make sure you seal the jar as it attracts water and can fizz when you add it to the molten lead.

I can't find any more of it here in OZ
