I was wondering if I have a problem, as I typically spend between 10-15 hours a week casting, sizing, and reloading my cast boolits. Do I need help?!?!? This doesn't include the all the time spent on this forum!! How much time do the rest of you spend???

Maybe 3 to 4, I don't spend a lot time casting, I just cast what I need at the time.

P.S. I should clarify that time is also reloading time and such things gun related, not just casting.

I don't spend as much time casting/sizing bullets as I do reloading and shooting. A casting session for me lasts about an hour (my back gets tired) with 6 cavity moulds, then when needed, an evening sizing bullets. Then I'm into loading and shooting. I shoot about 3 times a week.

Sometimes more.... sometimes less.... Love to reload, handload and peruse this forum.

Does unloading count?

Do I really have to answer this because I spend to much time getting ready for the weekend at the range. but my son and I are having a great time doing it so its all good.
Does this include picking up range brass tumbling and sorting gun shows and actual time at the range...

Hard to say. Depends on the week. Probably 5 or so per week on average. Some weeks might be 10, others might be 2.
Sadly, I spend as much time reading about it as I do doing it!

2 hours at the most for casting. that takes care of about 10-15lbs of bullets.

I think about it about 60hrs a week and actually do stuff about 20hrs a week.

I find it more enjoyable to cast and load then I do to shoot.

Some weeks, none. Last week about 3 hrs casting, 30 min sizing (love the Star), 4 hrs reloading, 2 hrs driving to and fro the range, 4 hrs shooting.

I often get to the point I have no unloaded brass to reload, a list of loads I want to make, and can't get to the range.

I spend about 15 hours a week on this website and probably five more on casting or loading the cast boolits.

Wow I am not going to say. You might send somebody with a net to get me!

I guess my answer is NOT ENOUGH. Other things keep getting in the way. 10 to 20 hours, 3 to 4 hours for every hour shooting.

WOW!! I think some of you need to get a life. [smilie=w: I doubt I spend 20 hrs a YEAR casting bullets. Maybe during the winter months I'll spend 10 or more hrs a week reloading. During the summer.......phhffft, a couple hrs a month...maybe....I got other and better things to do.

The time I spend casting and reloading varies. Between the busy season at work, side jobs, our children's school activities(sports, band, homework and school programs), Cub Scouts and Church duties/functions, sometimes I have slack time and sometimes I do not.
But I usually check in here while drinking my morning coffee, maybe during lunch and multiple times during the evening.
My wife calls my bullet casting, reloading and related intrests my "mistress". I have been known to go to the shop till 12:00 AM-2:00 AM and get up at 5:45 AM and get ready for work. But she does not seem to mind the time I spend shooting as she and/or the kids are normally with me.

I spend maybe 7-10 hrs per week still on the site and not nearly enough time casting, reloading or shooting. I don't think there is such a thing as "too much time", because just like with fishing, time spent casting boolits, reloading and shooting don't count against you in the big scheme of life.

Happy Casting!

It all depends on what your definition of "is", is.

I'm retired. I putz around in the shop, and I putz around on the web.
But putzin around in the shop usually costs less for me. ;-)
All of my time is play time.
I have no empty brass currently. I do have ingots of metal I think would be better if stored as boolits, rather than ingots.
Ingots are useless to me. Empty brass is also useless.
But rounds... now those have a purpose. :D
Time is not that relevant to me. ;)

I do something , gun , reloading , cleaning, shooting, reading related or on this fourm every day for a few hours not counting day dreaming about such
As far as casting i usually only make bullets in febuary when theres nothing to do , and usually cast , size & lube about 10,000+ , my record was 33,000 in febuary.
I would only cast in other mounths if i got a new mould or in this case a member wated some bullets for a Marlin Microgrove barrel and i will have to send them unsized as he needs a .360 dia bullet and all of the ones that i have are sized to .358

I'm old and retired. As a result, I spend about 1 hour a day on the net and maybe 3 to 4 hours a day casting, reloading and shooting. I'm lucky to have a range on my place, so I shoot a great deal.

Do any of you guys hunt? I make at least 3 trips out of state a year MT. WY. UT. and several to the midwest to hunt pigs snow geese and P-dogs.:bigsmyl2:

I do little or no casting from Aug. to March (as I only cast for pistols) as i'm to busy hunting all my casting happens from April to June pert much same with the pistolo reloading.
