It was a once in a lifetime draw and I used my 30-06 with Barnes Triple Shock bullets. Bull was taken near Valentine, NE.

Awsome. What was the distance? More hunt details - if you are so inclined.

330" B & C? Really nice Bull regardless. Still hoping for a Bull Elk tag here in KY someday.

The bull did tape at about 330" B&C. He was with three cows and when we spotted him, he was heading west across an alfalfa field. There was a shelter belt between the bull and us so we ran down to the end of the shelter belt and waited for him to come out which would have made a 75 yard shot. He must have winded us and took off running quartering away. The first shot knocked him down and the second went through his lungs. I put one more through his lungs once he was down. It was a great experience and I was thankful for the opportunity. I have hunted elk five times and this is my first bull and the only one I will be able to harvest in Nebraska.

SOM;

Great bull no matter which state you shot him in. I've hunted elk for fifty years and taken a bunch of them, but still haven't taken one that big.

Congratulations on a truly great bull.

Greetings & well done ! Running & shooting ! Donīt get much better than that.
Thank you for the hunting details & photo.
Amazing a plain old 30-06 can still stop a bull elk.

You know those alfalfa fed elk taste way better than the others.

SOM; Nice bull elk! Nebraska, wow I thought they were extinct there. I've hunted for many years and never taken a bull that big, good job!
