Got some pics of some deer on the property I hunt at. About 5 different ones. They come in packs.....I am thinking of using my Camp Carbine in .45 ACP. 230gr. Lee TC bullet over 7gr. Unique. Accurate load that does well in this gun. The shots will be relatively close. I should be able to ratchet off a couple shots that will result in a couple dead deer.

I don't see why a .45 ACP wouldn't work. The bullet your gonna use does it have a wide flat point? A bullet with a wide flat point would work good.

It indeed has a good sized meplat. It is 230gr.+ so it has weight as well. I think it will be a in and out bullet. 8+1 mag capacity. I am gonna load some up this afternoon and shoot a few. They did real well last time I shot them.

I have often wondered about this and have no experience, but none the less,....... What pressure will the 45 ACP carbine handle? Would it handle the pressure of the other 45 magnum loaded on a longer ACP case? I would not put them in a 1911, I wonder if the rifle would handle it?

If you could get about 900 fps or so, it should be good. This of course wouldn't be a load that I would shoot a lot though. I've heard the .45 Colt cartridge with a 250-255 gr. FP works good on deer only going about 900. So the ACP with a 230 gr. at that speed shouldn't be much different.

Less powder, more lead, shots far, kills dead.
More powder, less lead, kicks hard, wide spread.

Moved my stand on Friday. The pics are showing the deer coming from the left of my stand. Plan to head shoot them (they will be within pistol range).

They will come soon.......I need to go snag the chip and load up some of the better pics. A lot of the deer start posing in front of the camera when they realise they are getting photoed.

Mornin EMC45
The deer and turkey will eat some of the corn, but not all of it. Now the coons on the other hand will eat it all, every time. Sometimes you have to relocate (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/hobbles/huntin/8-30-2.jpg) them. It's not coon hunting season here yet so of course I don't hurt the poor greedy critters. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/hobbles/icons/290.gif

I have a trap like that. All the corn is getting eaten up, but I have only seen 3 pics with coons.
