I wasted $18 on a hot plate,i had to order it from my local hardware store.I can't return it,so i'll just use it to make some JPW dipping lube [some day, maybe?]
I am going to get the melter and just hand pour my castings. Oh,yes, I also have a Lee Prod.POt IV,it started to leak around the bottom spout!!!!! MURPHY is alive and at my house!

I think if you have a Lee bottom pour pot that is not leaking you best stop, you are out of lead. I have 4 Lees and they all leaked till I welded the spout shut. That is OK, I get better bullets with a ladle anyway.

I didn't fix it. Mine started to leak between the lower spout and the inner tub,at a seam.
One other one,i have,i took #600 valve grinding compound and seated the stopper into the inner spout, like you would a car valve!

remember that steel floats in lead. the Lee dont have enough weight to keep the stem tight IF the pot is over half full
I used a 1in U bolt with about 4 nuts on each leg. No drips
the u bolt just hangs back of the wood handle so nothing gets hot
