I know this was mentioned a couple of weeks ago, but in about 15 minutes the presentation of the Congressional Medal of Honor ceremony will be on the pentagon channel.

I know this kid since he grew up here in Greensburg, KY, my home town. We all are just a little proud of him.

Sorry for the repeat. Just couldn't help myself.

I can't find a good photo of the event to post. I want to see the jarhead sans the jughead.

Again I will ask. Did any of his advisers tell BHO he was supposed to salute the CMO?

Hand salute.

Brave men like him are a rare item indeed. He is a very humble hero and one who deserves to be recognized. My hat is off to him and I would salute him anytime and anywhere.

Hand salute.

It is my understanding he patted him on the shoulder and shook his hand...

Congrats Marine, well deserved, you have my salute.

Headlines in our local paper this morning read "Obama Awards Young Marine Medal of Honor" I thought the Marine "Earned" the medal & that it was simply presented by the president.

Nope, don't think so.

A difference in the Marine Corps protocol, a Marine does not wear his hat indoors, dress blues or not. A marine does not salute when not wearing the hat thus indoors.

The Corps was well over 40 years ago for me but that's how I remember it.

It is intensely irritating to me to think I could possibly stick up for Obummer but . . . Assuming I remember the no saluting indoors correctly Obummer was correct not saluting that incredible American because he was not supposed to salute back. Should the Commander in Chief Salute him indoors it would place him in an incredibly awkward position to salute back, how could he not? Would he have put Marine protocol ahead of Obummer and not saluted the Commander in Chief? Interesting thought.

Had the ceromony been held outdoors the Marine would have saluted the Commander in Chief even if Obummer didn't salute him.
