..........Saw your post about an hour after you left it. I don't know how the 'Chat' works, but on the bottom of the Cast Bullits main page it lists everyone whose on board at the time. If you can invite, that'd be a good way to do it I guess.

Waksupi---Im glad you said Carpetman showed as being logged into chat---I wasnt there at that time,but if it showed I was,it explains why I often see someone logged in but they don't respond.

It's having PHP issues with the new version.

I am trying to get the bugs worked out.

Gunloadmaster---I'm sure glad it's only a PHP issue. If it were HPP or PPH,could take years to fix. As you can see I'm well versed on those issues and certainly not over my head. Now someone else might be wondering what is a PHP issue?

PHP is a scripting language used on Linux based servers. It allows you to be able to have more interactive sites, such as this forum is based off PHP so it can interact with a database which holds all the information and can display it accordingly. In order to use the PHP language you have to install PHP on the server itself so it can read it. And recently this has been updated and the chat software doesnt want to work with it for some odd reason. I've updated the software, and reinstalled it a few times and it's not working. So I am trying to figure it out from there...

I agree with Felix. Set the background to white, and the font to black. No other options. That combination has worked for several thousand years, from papyrus, to electrons, and should work for awhile longer. The dark background that I was getting in the small windows was worthless.

There was no room created. I deleted it when we were having problems. I created one, so it should be good to go.

The room is FULLY customizable. Go into the chat and click "Options" and play around with the settings to get it correct for you. The reason it has options is because everyone always wants something different. This way, people can set it up any way they want.

The chat setup is WAY too cute and has WAY too many options; it also seems to ignore the options we select - plus it takes a couple of minutes to load on dial-up, a symptom again of an over-sophisticated system. It's hard enough for this old codger and two-thumb typist to keep up with the pace of a chat room. Keep it simple!

Go here and delete the castboolit one then try again. This fixed it for me when I had problems a while back.
