So eventually im going to have a 6.5-06 built out of a turk mauser (if i ever get the time and the money to finish it). But anyway i was wondering what is out there for lighter molds for the 6.5. Once i get it done i want to shoot it a lot and i was thinking that a 120gr or less mold would be perfect for light practice loads that i can shoot 50 at a stump out in the woods and not worry about breaking the bank. i looked at a few places on line but it seems that most of the molds in 6.5 are 150gr or more and about half a mile long not exactly what im looking for. So are there any molds around 120gr out there for the 6.5 that i should keep an eye out for.

I have a 130 gr. RN mold for my .260 Rem. that shoots very well. I believe it's an NEI, but might be a Saeco mold.

The mold number is NEI 266469 and I lied, it's a 140 gr. RN mold that shoots very well in both of my 1-8" twist .260s and is like shooting a .223 Rem.

Lyman made a 266305 125 gr GC mould. I have yet to put any down range, but it's in the ball park for what you want.

There's a old group(2007) buy 6 banger Lovern with a FN Lee out there that is 129 gr.

Even older group buy is the 6.5 129 Kurtz(LEE made 6 cav) Don't know when it was done.

Might see if you can find eather one of those.

I can send samples from the 2007 mold if you want some.

well don't have the gun done yet but when i do i might take you up on that offer. i was looking at NEI last night and it looks like they might make a 125 gr mold that might work alright. just trying to find the lightest mold i can. why waste lead on heavy boolits just for practice.
