I guess I need to keep this up-to-date.

Sturgis was alright but I don't like a lot of people pushing and shoving on me.
There were a lot of police to keep order, it seemed like they were on every corner. Here is a bike with a Chevy V-8 in it. I'd hate to tip that one over.

On schedule, my Nephew called and said that he was at my place and loading up the guns and ammo to meet us out on the prairie in South Dakota.
So, Lucas and I set out from Sturgis to some old shooting grounds.

When we stopped in Rapid for gas we decided to take 44 east and look for some dog towns. We stopped in Scenic along the way and discovered that it was now a ghost town, and was for sale. If you want to buy your very own ghost town, now is the time. And Scenic, South Dakota is the place.

We went through the Badlands Park to Wall, SD.
Wall is one of those places everyone who comes to South Dakota for the first time should visit, but should not entertain the thought of ever coming back again.

We went on 90 to Murdo and then North in search of prairie dogs. There were very few to be had. We learned that the plague had moved through the area and did not look promising. We put on a lot of miles looking for some place to shoot, with no good luck.

I suggested an out of the way place I'd shot several years ago. When we got there we found out that the rancher had poisoned them that spring but he said that there were a lot of prairie dogs left for shooting. (There were not that many, but there were a few to shoot.)

He let us camp on his property with access to water. Nathan., my nephew called me and told me where he was and I gave him directions to where we were camped.

Nathan had never been out here before and asked to be part of the trip with me and Luke. He brought his wife with him too. She wanted to shoot some prairie dogs and really enjoyed it. As a matter of fact, Nathan said she hogged the gun and was not willing to let him shoot.
The next day while we were out shooting, Amber decided to stay in camp and was surprised by a rattlesnake in camp and shot it with a 44 loaded with shot shells. She was a little unnerved but was alright.

We shot prairie dogs for two days and Nathan & Amber wanted to see the Black Hills. So, that night after supper we packed up the car with enough stuff for a couple of days camping and took the rest of the camp to the rancher's house along with the motorcycles and was ready for bed and to see the Black Hills the next day or so.
