Here is two targets I shot from a rest with my Colt Gold Cup Trophy at 100 yards from a rest.
The load was my own cast 200grLSWC with 5.6gr of Unique
7 rounds per target

This is a picture shot with the same pistol and same load at a 100 yards off hand. 14 rounds fired

Though they are not excellent groups I was proud of my Colt GCT and my own cast/loaded round at 100 yards.
I owe my friend OD to talking me into trying this and him giving me some pointers on sight picture.
To get on target hits I place the front sight about 6'oclock and split the front sight in half with the top of the rear sight.

Ummm.....make me feel really bad, yout bench groups look like the groups fired out of my 1911 at 25 yards. In my defense the barrel is pretty much shot out though.

Keep up the good work. I was going to ask where the snow is then I looked at your location we have about a foot here.

Thanks Doug. My 100 yard off hand needs some work. I have found that while practicing at a 100 yards with my 1911 my 50' groups have improved.
We got a few snow flurries this evening but nothing sticked. It is cold as all get out though.

would have been one dead individual if that target was a bad guy!

Hunter,

Years ago, I shot metalic sillywet with a 1911 using 185gr SWC and 4.5gr of Bullseye. Occasionally the 100 yard rams did not fall if hit low, but if struck in the upper 1/3 of the target, they toppled right over. I really enjoyed the pig relay at 50yds as thery were easiest to hit. Picture a 6 or 8" dinner plate with legs as the target and you get the idea. Lotsa fun.

I did a bit of "Hunter Pistol" silhouette for a time. It is definitely fun to shoot "knock downs". Immediate gratification!!:Fire:

I also like the rules of Hunter Pistol. Being able to use a scope and not be troubled with vision problems is a REALLY big plus!

I ended up as choosing a TC 10" in .30 carbine and shot RCBS' 165 GR Silhouette bullet ahead of a proper load of RL-7. It shot so flat that I could hold on the chickens, pigs, and turkeys and could hold on the top of the back for the rams. Really nice not to have to adjust sights as you moved from bank to bank. You should see that sucker take down the chickens!! Rams, let me say, were positively REMOVED, also:mrgreen:. I just LOVE to break things...[smilie=1:

For the benefit of those who have never shot Hunter Pistol, the maximum target distance, Rams, is at 100 yards. All shooting is done standing, two handed.
