Not new here, but it's been so long that I can't remember my old username so had to create a new one.
My dad has an old Lyman cast boolit book he thinks is from the 1950's or so and I'm trying to find a copy. trouble is it's in bad shape and he can't find any date or edition info. What it does have that makes it stand out for me and why I'm looking for one is that in the reloading section for each caliber there is a section at the bottom that has "pet loads". I found this interesting as a lot of the pet loads, as I recall, were not ones you'd find listed in reloading data. I seem to remember a lot of loads using powders that aren't considered ideal, etc. Also there was notes on the loads like "plinking load", "great for varmints", etc. Can anyone help me out on which particular book this might be? Thanks.

I have several old ones, I recall that the 41 had some of those loads, like after all the cast and jacketed loads were listed. After each, it says "target" "squirrel" or whatever the loads were good for. There is a copy of the 38 manual in pdf form on "Cast Pics" (link below).

My 1960 copyright Lyman manual has the Pet Loads section in it. Not sure what edition it is as the corner with the number is missing!

That sounds like the 1st edition Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook. It's the spiral bound job with the western motif on the cover. Looks like this one- http://www.ebay.com/itm/HANDBOOK-CAST-BULLETS-LYMAN-COPYRIGHT-1958-NICE-/160647539829?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item256756ec75
